Iron deficiency is common — and often overlooked
Iron deficiency is incredibly common yet frequently overlooked, underdiagnosed, or misinterpreted. Many women and men have depleted iron stores from heavy menstrual bleeding, pregnancy, blood donation, gastrointestinal disorders, prior surgery, inadequate dietary intake, poor absorption, endurance athletics, or other medical conditions.
Others simply cannot tolerate oral iron because of constipation, nausea, or abdominal pain — and some patients medically benefit from more rapid iron repletion. Persistent fatigue, restless legs, exercise intolerance, hair loss, or brain fog can all be related to low iron, yet many patients wait months to be seen. This program is designed to educate patients and provide physician-directed treatment based on medical necessity.

Misra Wellness offers physician-supervised IV iron in person at our Los Angeles office at 18740 Ventura Blvd, Suite 204 — convenient for patients across the San Fernando Valley, including Tarzana, Encino, Woodland Hills, Reseda, and Sherman Oaks, and the greater Los Angeles area.
The program is cash-pay, with transparent pricing and no insurance authorization to wait on. You can self-refer or be referred by your physician. Every plan is evaluated, dosed, and monitored by Dr. Sulagna Misra, MD, a board-certified internal medicine physician — iron infusions here are physician-directed, not a walk-in drip bar.

How the iron program works
- Start now and complete the required labs. Answer a short screening on the Start now page and pay the $99 required lab panel. We email you the Quest requisition form and a medical intake form.
- Physician consultation. Once your results are in, you schedule a 30-minute consultation with Dr. Misra ($350 for self-referral or outside physician referral). She reviews your results and symptoms and decides whether IV iron is right for you.
- Choose your program. If IV iron is appropriate, you go over the treatment options and the total cost before you decide to proceed.
- Infusions in Los Angeles. Your iron is ordered and your infusion appointments are scheduled at our Los Angeles office.
No insurance billing and no surprise bills afterward. The process must be completed within 30 days of your initial payment, and all payments are nonrefundable.

Initial physician consultation
A physician consultation and the required iron labs are completed before treatment. Every patient completes the required labs through Misra Wellness; outside labs are not accepted. Consultation pricing depends on how you are referred. The consultation and labs are separate from the treatment programs below.

Important information
- The $99 required lab fee is paid first, and the required labs must be completed before the consultation. The consultation fee is paid once your labs and medical intake are complete.
- Every patient completes the required labs through Misra Wellness, including DPC-referred and self-referred patients. Labs done elsewhere, even recent ones, cannot be used in place of the required panel: outside labs often do not include every test Dr. Misra needs or are not drawn the way she needs them.
- Laboratory and consultation fees are nonrefundable and do not guarantee eligibility for treatment.
- If the required labs are not completed within 30 days, or the results are no longer current, the original fees are not refunded or credited.
- If the evaluating physician identifies abnormalities, a possible cause of anemia, inflammation, active disease, or micronutrient issues that need further evaluation, you will need to return to your primary care physician or an appropriate specialist for further workup before treatment can proceed. If you do not have a primary care physician, you can become a Misra Wellness DPC patient or book à la carte visits ($350 per 30 minutes, $500 per hour) for a virtual workup, depending on availability.
- If you return later for reconsideration, a new consultation and a new set of the required labs through Misra Wellness are required, and the applicable fees are paid again — your medical status or medications may have changed.
- Treatment must be paid in full before medication is ordered. Once the iron formulation and dose are selected, the medication is ordered for you and the treatment fee is nonrefundable.
- Treatment packages do not include the consultation or labs.
- Not all patients are candidates for intravenous iron — for example, people with certain chronic heart conditions or chronic kidney disease.
- The iron infusion program is currently available in Los Angeles, California only.
- Patients return to their referring physician after completing treatment.

Iron infusion: common questions
Can I get an iron infusion without a referral?
Yes. You can self-refer or come by physician referral. A physician consultation and the required iron labs are completed before treatment so Dr. Misra can confirm you are an appropriate candidate and calculate your iron deficit.
Why do I need labs through Misra Wellness?
Dr. Misra needs a specific set of iron labs to evaluate you and calculate your iron deficit, and routine lab work often does not include all of them or is not drawn the way she needs. Every patient completes the required labs ($99) through Misra Wellness before the physician consultation.
I already have recent labs. Can I use them instead?
No. Labs from other offices cannot be used in place of the required panel, even if they are recent. Every patient, including DPC-referred patients, completes the required $99 lab panel through Misra Wellness before the consultation.
Where are infusions performed?
At our Los Angeles, California office. The iron infusion program is currently available in Los Angeles only; it is not yet offered in New York.
How much does an iron infusion cost in Los Angeles?
The initial physician consultation is $350 for an outside or self-referral, $149 with a Direct Primary Care physician referral, and included for current Misra Wellness DPC patients. Required iron labs are $99 and separate from the consultation fee. Treatment programs start at $999 for the Essential program (five infusions — under $200 per infusion), $1,499 (Accelerated), and $4,999 (Rapid), and do not include the consultation or labs.
Are the lab and consultation fees refundable?
No. The lab and consultation fees are nonrefundable and do not guarantee eligibility for treatment. If the required labs are not completed within 30 days, or the results are no longer current, the fees are not refunded or credited. Once your iron formulation and dose are selected, the medication is ordered for you and the treatment fee is also nonrefundable.
What if Dr. Misra finds something that needs further evaluation?
If your labs or evaluation point to another cause of anemia, inflammation, active disease, or micronutrient issues, you will need further workup with your primary care physician or an appropriate specialist before treatment can proceed. If you do not have a primary care physician, you can become a Misra Wellness DPC patient or book à la carte visits, depending on availability.
Can I come back later if treatment is not recommended now?
Yes. Reconsideration requires a new consultation and a new set of the required labs through Misra Wellness, and the applicable fees are paid again, because your medical status or medications may have changed.
Is everyone a candidate for IV iron?
No. Intravenous iron is not appropriate for everyone — for example, people with certain chronic heart conditions or chronic kidney disease. Candidacy is determined during your physician evaluation.
Does insurance cover this?
No. Misra Wellness is cash-pay only and does not bill insurance or provide superbills.
What happens after treatment?
You return to your referring physician after completing treatment, and follow-up recommendations are sent to them.
