Open Payments Notice
Transparency about financial relationships between physicians and manufacturers.
The federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act requires this notice. Open Payments is a national disclosure program created by the Affordable Care Act and administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It promotes transparency by publicly reporting certain financial relationships between applicable manufacturers and group purchasing organizations and physicians and teaching hospitals.
Under this program, manufacturers of drugs, devices, biologicals, and medical supplies may be required to report payments or transfers of value — such as consulting fees, honoraria, meals, travel, education, research, or gifts — that they make to physicians. These reports are collected by CMS and published in a searchable public database.
This disclosure requirement applies to physicians generally and is independent of whether a practice participates in Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. Misra Wellness is a physician-owned Direct Primary Care and Concierge Internal Medicine practice that does not bill or accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid; we provide this notice in the interest of full transparency.
